FAQs

Questions?  We have answers!  Here are answers to our most frequently asked questions.

Filter by Category

Is GRIT X a good fit for my child?

GRIT X is ideal for kids who:

  • Want more independence

  • Enjoy sports and teamwork

  • Love creating videos or media

  • Thrive when trusted with responsibility

Is GRIT X still active and athletic?

Absolutely. Every day includes sports, park-based activities, team challenges, and skill-building movement sessions.

We believe older campers still need to move — a lot.

What types of projects will X Campers complete?

GRIT X projects may include podcast episodes, stop-motion films, YouTube-style camp recaps, team strategy competitions, design challenges, and themed creative builds and more with many posted to the GRIT app and our social media channels.

How much independence do X campers have?

GRIT X campers move between designated spaces within clear boundaries and supervision. Independence is structured — not unsupervised.

What makes GRIT X different from Adventure Camp?

GRIT X is designed specifically for ages 10–13 and offers more independence, longer project blocks, studio access, and leadership challenges. Coaches shift into mentor roles while maintaining structured supervision.

What is GRIT?

GRIT exists to build fearless, capable kids ready to take on life's challenges

We believe:

  • Kids are tougher than most people think

  • Challenge builds confidence (comfort doesnt)

  • Real skills vs participation trophies

  • Homework before fun ( non-negotiable)

  • Effort matters more than outcome. Trust the process.

  • " I can't" just means " I can' YET"

So you make my child do their homework?

You help my child complete their homework?

We live by the motto "Get it done and get to the fun stuff." We are not a tutoring service. We are accountabilty. Homework is the child's responsibility. We don't do it for them; we help make sure it gets DONE. We check its complete ( not correct- there is a difference).

Having problems? Our JEI Learning Center teachers can help. We offer tutoring in both math and english as well as creative writing.

PS- For kids without homework, this is a great time to go outdoors or grab a book from our library or work on a stem challenge.

Why GRIT CLUB

  • Homework gets done (guaranteed)

  • Real Athletic Training in a real gym (not a cafeteria or break room)

  • Kids BEG to come ( not "do I have to")

  • Outdoor time ( fresh air)

What is GRIT Club?

The After School Program that Kids Actually WANT to go To!

We designed GRIT Club for busy, modern parents. When you pick up your child, their homework is finished, their energy is spent, and their curiosity is satisfied. You get back the evening for quality family time, not negotiation!

How long is Camp?

GRIT Camps run from 8:00am -6:00pm for both holiday camps and summer camp. IF you need early drop off please contact GRIT and we will try to accommodate your request.

How many children are in each class?

Safety is a number one rule at GRIT! All classes are limited to provide a small student/teacher ratio and ensure a safe environment.
